It's A Jeep Thing

I have really missed driving a Jeep.

Don't get me wrong, I love my little Beetle, but there is just something so fun and cool about a Wrangler. It's so much easier to find adventure behind the wheel of a Jeep.

I went on the most beautiful Sunday drive today. I live super close to Spanish Fork canyon and I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've gone up there in the 3.5 years I've lived here.

It's a shame.

One of my goals this year is to get out and see more of this beautiful state. I have totally been missing out!

I don't look for anything super crazy or dangerous, but I do love trails and I found a couple of pretty tame ones not too far up the canyon.

I had a lot of fun.

So much in fact that when my friend Deni texted me to tell me she was coming over for a visit, I told her to stay put, that I was coming to pick her up. I dragged her out the canyon and made her enjoy the beauty and adventure with me.

We had such a great time.

Sorry for the iPhone pix. I didn't take my big camera.

Payson Temple

The LDS church has built a new temple close to my house.

It is so, so beautiful.

Go here for more information.

My current church calling is to serve with the Young Women as a laurel advisor.

It is exactly up my alley.

Seriously.

This morning, we had the awesome opportunity to tour the Payson temple and to specifically see the bride's room.

The temple is absolutely incredible!

I took my camera (shocker, I know) to get pics of the outside. I wanted so badly to take pictures of all of the beautiful details on the inside but photography is not allowed. From the wood finish work to the marble staircases, the chandeliers to the incredible (I am running out of adjectives!) stained glass windows, it is the stuff dreams are made of. I seriously felt like a princess in my very own castle.

But, more than the physical beauty of this amazing building, the most incredible part was that I felt the love of God every single second of the tour. It was so awesome.

I ran into Nikki and Ashley. It was fun to see them.

And, of course, I couldn't resist the amazing tulips!

I have to savor what little time I have left with these beauties!

It was such a great opportunity to tour the temple this morning. I will go back in the next week or so to take the open house tour, then I can't wait to go once it's dedicated.

Insta Laugh

This is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. I still snort laugh when I look at it.

I think we've all been there.

Right?!

Guess What Day It Is?!

IT'S JEEP DAY!!!

My best little brother and his cute family are moving to AZ.

< < I am super sad > >

In just a few months, I will be the only one in my immediate family in Utah.

It actually makes me really depressed. I may need to look at re-locating.

However, there is one positive thing! Cade doesn't have a way to get his Jeep to Arizona right away, so he asked if he could keep it at my house.

Um...sure?!

I mean, I guess. If you have to.

So, Gina and I will be hanging out for a few weeks...possibly longer.

I'm actually hoping he will forget about her and she will be mine forever. I drove a green Wrangler in college and it was so much fun. Jeep Wranglers aren't super practical vehicles, but they are so awesome. If I could afford to, I would always own one.

Driving topless is the only way to drive ;)

Hooray for a summer of Jeeping!!

Big News!!!

Best. News. Ever!

Jordan and David are having a baby!

HOORAY!

I am so excited for them.

The baby is coming in August...and they are moving to California in September.

Major bummer.

Here's to getting lots and lots of sky miles!

I Win

The other morning, I went into the kitchen at work where I ran into my pal Collin.

His back was to me and when he turned around, I saw that he was shoveling a huge piece of chocolate cake into his mouth.

He had the plate right up next to his chin and was literally shoving it into his face as fast as he could.

It was 9:30 in the morning.

Collin is a pretty fit guy. He does Crossfit a few times a week and takes pretty good care of himself. We talk a lot about fitness and nutrition and check up on each other to make sure we are keeping up with our health.

He clearly did not expect for me to catch him loving on some chocolate cake for breakfast.

Totally busted!!

He immediately started yelling, "Oh my gosh! I am totally telling Mike that you had a HUGE piece of cake for breakfast! You are going to be in so much trouble!"

Really dude?

This is how we're going to play?!

First of all, you don't even know Mike.

(and, for the record, Collin is super jealous that Mike is the #1 black man in our lives)

oh, AND secondly, of course I didn't eat chocolate cake for breakfast!

< < I really didn't have any, but if I had, no one would know about it because I am super stealth because I know that Mike has eyes everywhere > >

Is it an eating disorder if I hide away when I eat bad food?

So, in order to guarantee Collin's silence, I swung by his cube, snapped a quick incognito photo and took to Photoshop to teach him a lesson.

And, that lesson is this: she who knows Photoshop always wins.

Always.

(For the record, I know this is a horribly chop-shopped display of Photoshop skill and I am embarrassed to even post it, but we all got a good laugh so I wanted to share).

Guess What?

I suck at blogging. That's what.

I really miss it.

Hopefully, I can make it a habit again.

It's tulip time once again and I couldn't be happier. My parents were in town last weekend (hooray!) and we were driving down 9th East in Provo when I spotted a flowerbed full of beautiful tulips.

Yay!

We were stopped at a stoplight...in the inside lane. I was in the backseat, in the middle (with my feet on the hump - lol). I made a quick decision, grabbed my camera, made David jump out (he was on the opposite side of the car from the flowers), I jumped out, ran around the car, across two lanes of traffic (frogger-ing through the other cars stopped at the light), then across another side street, just to get the following pics (plus 150 more):

I think it was worth every ounce of danger. Tulips make me so happy!

Hooray for spring!!
